Integrated Report 2026

Executive SummaryMessage From Our CTO

To strengthen our technological foundation and accelerate sustainable growth, PHC Group established the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in July 2026. We also restructured our internal R&D organization Core Technology Laboratory (CoreTech Lab), overseen by Senior Executive Corporate Officer and CTO Ryuichi Hirashima, in April 2026 by expanding the former Diagnostic and Life Sciences Domain R&D into a Corporate R&D organization for all of PHC Group. Through CoreTech Lab, we will seek to introduce the core and adjacent precision technologies that will drive PHC Group’s next phase of growth as well as our vision to power the future of healthcare.

Powering Growth through PHC Group’s Technological Excellence

I took on the newly established role of CTO on July 1, 2026. Our Group is now transitioning from Phase 1 of the Value Creation Plan 2027, which focused on strengthening our business foundation, to Phase 2, where growth will become the primary strategic focus.

Growth can be achieved through both inorganic approaches, such as M&A, and organic approaches based on our own R&D and technological innovation. In recent years, the Group has focused more heavily on the inorganic path. While inorganic expansion remains a vital pillar of our strategy, we are now committed to further strengthening our organic growth. By returning to our core identity as a global collection of healthcare companies providing medical devices and services, we will focus on how best to integrate and leverage our technologies, technical expertise, and strengths to deliver innovative products that bring new value to customers.

PHC Group possesses a wide range of outstanding technologies. The technical strengths that underpin PHC Group’s business, and serve as a common foundation for all our technologies, are our strong commitment to quality and the manufacturing excellence inherited from Panasonic and other legacy companies.

Based on this foundation, our core solutions include sensing technologies that use enzymatic electrodes, optics, and microfluidics, as well as environmental control technologies that are utilized across a wide range of our products. Furthermore, our expertise extends to processing, preservation, and cell culture technologies for blood and cells, along with the digital technologies that power our healthcare IT solutions.
Surrounding these core technologies are various adjacent technologies and specialized forms of know-how.

Together, these technologies can be broadly categorized into three areas:
“Devices & Instruments”; “Biomedical & Life Sciences”; and “Data & Analytics.” The combination of core and adjacent technologies enables us to develop products and services that provide unique value to our customers.

By combining these technologies, we aim to accelerate the development of new products and expand the value we provide to customers, particularly in fields such as drug discovery support and personalized medicine. Building on the technological assets we have cultivated over many years, we will use these technologies to further accelerate PHC Group’s unique growth strategy.
